Outdoor Service and Picnic Sunday, August 18th 2019 at 11am

We are delighted to inform you that our next Outdoor Service and Potluck will be on August 18th at 11am ET at Parc Angrignon.

We are expecting about 40+ attendees. Ergo, kindly ask your team to  prepare adequate food portions, if possible. The deadline for submitting the allocations will be August 15th  at 5pm ET.

If you are a guest, please feel welcome to show up and share our picnic with us. If you are part of the GMC church, below is a summary of the duty allocations and also here is the signup sheet.

Outdoor Service and BBQ Sunday July 14th 2019 at 11am

Our first 2019 Summer Outdoor Service and BBQ will be on July 14th at 11am at Angrignon Park. Please take note that we will not be gathering at our usual location at church that day.

Meeting location:
Angrignon Park (3400 Boulevard Trinitarian, Montréal, QC H4E 4J3) at 11AM.
Shaded circle shown on the map attached. To best describe where it is, it’s right across from the washrooms. If you get lost, simply ask people where the washroom is and you should be able to find us (we’ll be a large group of people so it should be easy to spot!)
Transportation:
By metro: Angrignon station on green line (final stop). You can either join the people at the metro station at 10:45am to go to the meeting point together, or simply follow the map.By car: Various parking options are available; see “P” in the map. The paid parking is right across from the metro station, and it’s probably closer to where we meet. Parking fee is probably around $8 for the day. If you decide to park there, take the Boulevard des Trinitaires entrance (where you can see the metro sign). There is also a free parking lot (gravel ground) and is located at the de la Verendrye entrance. See map to get to the meeting location. Street parking is also available; see map for details.

Lunch:
Lunch will be provided by Gabriel Chin and GMC:
*bring your own tupperware and utensils

*bring sunscreen, blankets, hats, insect repellent etc

*bring fun games that we can play together e.g. frisbees, soccer balls, water guns etc

Lastly, weather contingent we may have to move the event indoors. Therefore, do keep an eye on our Facebook page and website the night prior to the event for last minute updates.

Outdoor Service August 19th 11am

This coming Sunday (August 19), we are having an outdoor service at 11:00 AM in the Voyageur Provincial Park (1313 Front Rd, Chute-à-Blondeau, ON K0B 1B0). The service will also include a baptism ceremony for Francis Rugama. Francis is a student who has decided to publicly declare her faith in Christ. If you wish, please feel free to prepare a card or a gift for her as an expression of our celebration.

Enter the park and follow the signs for “beach” and you will arrive at the parking area for the beach. Once parked, walk past a bathroom towards the beach and look for some familiar faces or contact John.

 

Rides:

If you can OFFER rides or NEED a ride to the park, please sign up AS SOON AS POSSIBLE but no later than Friday noon. Please email John Lim at johnlim1020@gmail.com.

Please meet your driver at church by 9:15AM. All rides will leave at 9:30AM SHARP. In case of any last minute change, please contact your driver as soon as possible.

Lastly, please bring some cash to share the cost of the park entrance fee, parking and the gas money (should be < $10).

 

Lunch:

GMC will provide lunch (burgers and hotdogs), but please feel free to bring chips, salads, or dessert etc., as you wish!

*Offerings will be collected.
*Feel free to bring your outdoor gears (picnic blanket, swim wear, Frisbee, balls, games, etc) for some fun activities in the afternoon. You can also kayak/canoe in the lake ($).
*Please pray for the weather. In case of bad weather, I will notify you via Facebook, so please make sure you check or message me before you leave on Sunday.
*Please feel free to bring your friends or family members.

Outdoor Service June 17, 2018

Hello everyone,

We will have our first outdoor service of the year on Sunday 17th June 2018 at Angrignon Park. Service will begin at 11AM and will be followed by a potluck meal in the park. Please note that this is a full service and offering will be collected. In case of bad weather, we may need to have the service at church; in that case, we will make an announcement on Facebook so please check before leaving for the park.

Please bring your own utensils and Tupperware to reduce waste and to take some leftover food home. We invite you to also bring blankets, sun block, bug spray, and games (e.g. balls, frisbee, etc.)

Outdoor Service May 28, 2017

 

 

This coming Sunday (May 28), we are having an outdoor service and William’s baptism at 11:00 AM in the Voyageur Provincial Park (1313 Front Rd, Chute-à-Blondeau, ON K0B 1B0) and here’s some info about the rides and potluck.

(Suggested route from church)

Enter the park and follow the signs for “beach” and you will arrive at the parking area for the beach. Once parked, look for some familiar faces or contact John / Wendy.

Rides:
If you can OFFER rides or NEED a ride to the park, please sign up AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so we can coordinate the meeting location and time. If you don’t sign up by Friday NOON, we cannot guarantee your spot. Please refer to the second worksheet on the same google doc (you can find it on the tab at the bottom of the google doc). If you had a last minute change or forgot to sign up on time, please still contact me or Wendy in case we have any extra seat available for you.
Lastly, please bring some cash to share the cost of the park entrance fee, parking and the gas money (should be < $10).

Potluck:
Please sign up on the google doc (first worksheet) as usual so we know what you are bringing in order to prevent extreme cases where we have 10 dessert and no sides

We will have our third and final outdoor service of the year this Sunday August 21 at 11:00 AM. Therefore, NO SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT CHURCH DOWNTOWN.

We will have our second outdoor service of the year this Sunday on July 24 at 11:00 AM. Therefore, NO SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT CHURCH DOWNTOWN.

Here are the details:

Meeting location: Parc La Fontaine at 11AM (close to the parking lot on Av. Calixa Lavallée (Sherbrooke side), behind the 24 W. bus stop on Sherbrooke).

Lunch:
There will be a potluck lunch after the service. (There is a BBQ if anyone wishes to use).
*Please sign up on the google spreadsheet so we know what to expect and prepare accordingly.
*Please note that for the main dish, the cost of preparation will be reimbursed by church upon request.

***If by any chance, no one signs up for the main dish, the lunch will be “bring your own lunch” style.***
