Pastor Chris' Sabbatical: UPDATE

Dear friends and visitors of Grace Montreal Church,

As it's been announced these past few Sundays, pastor Chris had requested an extension to his sabbatical leave, and after bringing the matter to the congregation at one of our recent congregational meetings, the Leadership has given Pastor Chris one month of extension. He will come back to Montreal in mid-February, and will return to the pulpit on the first Sunday of March.

Please continue to keep him in your prayer as he seeks guidance and renewal during this time.

The message of Christianity is astounding. It’s at the same time both offensive and appealing. It tells us that we are sinners, more weak and inadequate than we care to admit. But at the same time, it says that we are loved and accepted more than we could dare hope to be. This is the astounding paradox of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s not a popular message, but it’s what “grace” is all about.

So whether you’re a believer or not, our goal at Grace Montreal Church is that all visitors would hear and encounter this grace -through the time of worship, teaching, and the community we are building.

We don’t claim to have it all together. In fact, you may not enjoy your first visit. And that’s ok. But we hope you’ll come back. We hope you’ll be challenged to ask questions and get to know some people. Keep visiting. And who knows, one day, you may be astounded by grace!

Pastor Chris Away on Sabbatical

Dear friends and visitors of Grace Montreal Church,

As many of you have already learned, for the purpose of seeking a deeper renewal in his personal relationship with God, Pastor Chris will be away on sabbatical starting from Sept 12, 2011, for at least four months. Please pray that this sabbatical will be a time of meaningful and much needed renewal for him.

During this time, the leadership of Grace Montreal Church will be taking on more responsibilities. We will be having a variety of guest speakers who have graciously agreed to help minister by preaching on Sundays.

We believe such times are an opportunity for growth and renewal, not only for our pastor, but for our church as a whole. We sincerely appreciate your prayers and support.
